United Arab Emirates National Day at Expo 2015
The Emirates National Expo Day had a different flavour from all the other National Days during the six months of the Milan Expo. It was a true passing of the baton from Milan Expo 2015 to Dubai Expo 2020. The 20th October was officially opened by the Italian Minister of Economic Development, Federica Guidi, and the Emirates Minister of Economy, Sultan Bin Saeed Al Mansoori. The opening procedures gave way to a series of celebrations in which Mauro Marzocchi, Secretary General of the Italian Chamber of Commerce in the UAE, participated.
The CEO of Dubai Expo 2020, Reem Al Hashimi described the event: “Very well done Milan! It was clear from the outset that the Expo would be done in perfect Italian style, characterised by warmth and hospitality. Milan Expo 2015 gave us the opportunity to open our country’s doors and strengthen our international relations. The work for Dubai 2020 starts now.”
Mauro Marzocchi, Secretary General of the Chamber of Commerce in the UAE, said: “the tour of meetings carried out before, during and after this National Day in the Expo demonstrated the importance of exchanges between Italy and the UAE and the value of future developments linked to the 2020 edition of the Universal Exposition. We will be first in line to share with Dubai Expo 2020 the know-how and creativity that the Milanese Expo showcased to a global audience.”
