Licia Mattioli è una fonte inesauribile di energia. Avvocato per formazione, imprenditrice per vocazione, muove i primi passi nel mondo dei gioielli quasi in punta di piedi per poi scalare le vette della high-fashion sullo slancio della grinta e della determinazione che chiunque le riconosce.
Tutto ha inizio nel 1995 quando, insieme al padre, Licia acquisisce l’Antica Ditta Marchisio, il più antico e apprezzato laboratorio orafo artigianale di Torino e avvia un processo di rinnovamento totale dell’azienda. Con il sostegno dell’ingegner Luciano Mattioli, la cui esperienza professionale vanta anni ai vertici di una delle maggiori aziende italiane, Licia dà presto vita a una piccola grande rivoluzione aziendale, che investe la struttura sia dal punto di vista gestionale che sul versante creativo.
Intanto, apre una galleria d’arte contemporanea a Torino per promuovere e lanciare giovani artisti italiani, riuscendo a coniugare gli impegni lavorativi e culturali con la propria famiglia. È proprio dalla fusione di tutte queste esperienze e dal suo essere una donna mediterranea, cresciuta tra i colori e i sapori della sua Italia, che nascono, in un caleidoscopio di colori, le prime creazioni che portano il suo nome.
Licia pensa alla donna Mattioli come a una personalità a lei affine: una donna che lavora e viaggia, dinamica e femminile, forte ma flessibile e, soprattutto, figlia del proprio tempo e interprete dello spirito contemporaneo. L’entusiasmo e la caparbietà con cui Licia affronta il proprio incarico determinano nel corso degli anni importanti partnership con grandi maison internazionali e le valgono, tra gli altri, il ruolo di Presidente della Federorafi e poi di Presidente dell’Unione Industriale di Torino, prima donna in entrambi i ruoli e Vice presidente di Confindustria con delega per l’internazionalizzazione ed attrazione investimenti. Così, dagli Stati Uniti al Giappone, Mattioli – socio del Comitato Leonardo – è diventato sinonimo di classe made in Italy e così, con impegno e passione, Licia ha saputo creare un mondo. Ma questo, come afferma, “è solo l’inizio”.

Licia Mattioli is an inexhaustible source of energy. Trained as a lawyer and businesswoman by vocation, Ms Mattioli took her first steps in the world of jewellery almost on tiptoe, before climbing the peaks of high fashion with all the strength and determination she is known for.
Everything began in 1995, when, together with her father, Licia bought Antica Ditta Marchisio, the oldest and best-known artisanal goldsmith’s workshop in Turin, and began completely renovating the firm. Supported by engineer Luciano Mattioli, with his years of experience at the head of one of Italy’s biggest corporations, Licia brought in a revolution that swept through the company affecting everything from management to the creative side.
Meanwhile, she opened a contemporary art gallery in Turin to promote and launch young Italian artists, succeeding in combining her work and cultural activities with family life. Her first creations with their kaleidoscope of colours were inspired precisely by this fusion of all these experiences and her identity as a Mediterranean woman, who grew up surrounded by the colours and flavours of Italy.
Licia sees the Mattioli woman as someone like herself: a woman who works and travels, who is dynamic and feminine, strong but flexible and, above all, a part of the period of history she lives in and interpreter of the contemporary world. The strong imprint of this new philosophy on Mattioli style can be found in all the Turin brand’s collections ever since: from bracelets to the famous necklaces, every jewel is both singular and eclectic, a versatile travelling companion as well as an irreplaceable mark of distinction. Licia’s enthusiasm and obstinacy towards her work have led to important partnerships over the years with top international brands and have earned her, among others, the role of President of Federorafi and later President of the Turin Industrial Association, the first woman to take either role, as well as Vice President of Confindustria in charge of internationalisation and attracting investment. Mattioli – a member of the Leonardo Committee – thus became a synonym for Made in Italy class from the US to Japan, as Licia created her own world with passion and commitment. But as she herself says, this “is only the beginning”.
