La famiglia di gioiellieri Damiani sarà il nuovo azionista di controllo di Venini, storico marchio del vetro veneziano.
Lo hanno annunciato oggi il presidente Guido Damiani e Giancarlo Chimento, che rilevò Venini nel 2001 dalla multinazionale danese Royal Scandinavia insieme alla famiglia Tabacchi, riportando in mani italiane l’azienda nata a Murano nel 1921. Le due famiglie venete resteranno azioniste con il 40% del capitale accanto al 60% dei Damiani.
“Venini è come una bella donna, negli ultimi tre anni si sono affacciati molti investitori anche esteri, alla fine sono caduto nelle braccia di Damiani”, ha detto Chimento, classe 1943.
Guido Damiani ha sottolineato le affinità tra i due marchi centenari (Damiani è stata fondata nel 1924): “più che sinergie economiche, vediamo sinergie di intenti, di visione, che si basano sul gusto per il bello, sull’orgoglio di essere interamente made in Italy e sul valore dell’artigianalità”, rimasta sostanzialmente invariata nei secoli tanto nell’arte orafa quanto in quella del vetro soffiato.
In Venini Damiani vede un grande potenziale commerciale in Italia e soprattutto all’estero. Sarà sfruttato il canale distributivo di Damiani attraverso il multimarca Rocca e l’wholesale; nel tempo saranno aperti nuovi negozi monomarca. Non è stato esclusa, in futuro, la strada del co-branding.meravigliosa che lavora con impegno e passione nella continua ricerca dell’eccellenza.”
Nel corso del 2015 le Cantine Ferrari sono state inoltre nominate Sparkling Wine Producer of The Year” dal prestigiosoThe Champagne and Sparkling Wine World Championships.
Damiani buys up majority share of Venini
The Damiani jewellery family will be the new majority shareholder of Venini, the historical Venetian glass company.
The announcement was made by CEO Guido Damiani and Giancarlo Chimeto, who purchased Venini together with the Tabacchi family from Danish multinational Royal Scandinavia in 2001, bringing the company founded in Murano in 1921 back under Italian ownership. The two Venetian families will remain shareholders with 40% of the capital against 60% owned by Damiani. Mr Chimento, born in 1943, commented that: “Venini is like a beautiful woman, over three years many investors, including foreign investors, have courted her, and in the end she has fallen into Damiani’s arms.” Guido Damiani emphasised the similarities between the two historic brands (Damiani was founded in 1924): “More than just financial synergies, we see a similar intention and vision, based on the love of beauty, the pride of being entirely Made in Italy and the value of craftsmanship”, which have stayed the same over the centuries for both goldsmithery and glassblowing. Damiani sees huge commercial potential for Venini in Italy and above all abroad. The plan is to use Damiani’s distribution channel through multi-brand Rocca and wholesale; in time, new flagship stores are also planned. In the future, co-branding could be a wonderful possibility, which we work on with commitment and passion, constantly striving for excellence.” During 2015, Cantine Ferrari was also named Sparkling Wine Producer of the Year at the prestigious Champagne and Sparkling Wine World Championships.
