Il 1° maggio, giorno di inaugurazione di Expo Milano 2015, è finalmente giunto, e tutti hanno potuto vedere il frutto di mesi di lavoro, che hanno visto impegnati decine di migliaia di lavoratori, circa 5.000 imprese. È stato un impegno oneroso, indubbiamente complesso, ma che ha dato i suoi frutti, come ci hanno confermato i primi visitatori di questi giorni, entusiasti da ciò che hanno potuto vedere nei Padiglioni che compongono l’Expo: architetture uniche, espressioni di culture variegate, dove il tema “Nutrire il Pianeta, Energia per la Vita” viene affrontato da diversi punti di vista, con le sue virtù, ma anche con i suoi limiti: non una mera esposizione di cibo, ma un’occasione di riflessione e di confronto. Ed è questa, soprattutto, la forza, la potenza, di questa Esposizione Universale.
Riteniamo che il nostro progetto abbia preso la via giusta. Ora abbiamo davanti sei mesi per far sì che Expo Milano 2015 confermi la validità di queste scelte, e la sua capacità di diventare occasione di arricchimento personale e globale, dando corpo, voce e futuro a questa grande, straordinaria, sfida.
Our Great Challenge has Begun!
1 May, the day of the inauguration of Expo Milano 2015, finally arrived, and everyone was able to see the fruit of months of work, and the commitment of tens of thousands of workers, from some 5,000 companies. It was an onerous, undoubtedly complex task, but it has paid off, as confirmed by the first visitors of these days, who were excited by what they saw in the pavilions that make up the Expo: unique architecture, expressions of diverse cultures, where the theme ‘Feeding the Planet, Energy for Life’ is addressed from different points of view, with its virtues, and also with its limitations. It is not a mere food display, but an opportunity for reflection and discussion. And this, above all, is the strength, the power, of this World Fair. We believe that our project has taken the right path. Now we have six months to ensure that Expo Milano 2015 confirms the validity of these choices, and its ability to become an opportunity for personal and global enrichment, giving a form, voice and future to this great, extraordinary challenge.
