Firenze, vetrina di Expo 2015

Istituzioni e imprese fiorentine si uniscono nel progetto internazionale “Work’nFlorence – Centuries of experience working with you”

Florence, Expo 2015 Showcase
Institutions and businesses come together in the international project ‘Work’nFlorence – Centuries of experience working with you’
Expo 2015 is a great opportunity for the country. Thus, from the pavilions inside the Expo Milano to the initiatives in the regions, the chambers of commerce and the economic systems have the right and duty to present themselves as united. An opportunity for showcasing comparable to this will not happen again, at least not for many years. That is why we want to leave no stone unturned, as we demonstrated on 27 and 28 March when the city hosted ‘Italy 2015: the country in the year of Expo,’ in which PromoFirenze, leader of the Florentine institutions in Expo projects, provided a taste of what I like to consider a widespread World Expo. In fact, from 1 May to 31 October 2015, the institutions and enterprises of Florence will be joined in the international project ‘Work’nFlorence – Centuries of experience working with you,’ to present projects and initiatives following the main themes of the international exhibition event within the Florentine area, which is so rich in history, tradition and innovation, with the direct support of Expo 2015. The participants in the ‘Work’nFlorence – Florence with Expo 2015’ project, promoted and financed by the Chamber of Commerce of Florence, implemented by PromoFirenze, include the Region of Tuscany, the Municipality of Florence and other local authorities and associations. In this way the  calendar for Work’nFlorence (available online at www.expo2015firenze.it) represents a unified map of the events held in the area during Expo 2015. I am sure that the 3D I_Dome, the temporary mall hosting The House of Excellence, events and initiatives such as Gardens and Refectories (where the products of the citizens’ vegetable gardens are tasted in the city’s historic cloisters) and the Artisan Days (with guided tours of companies) will help to let the world know that Florence does not only represent art and tradition, but also the future and innovation, starting from the fact that food, sustainability and good living – the key themes of Expo 2015 – are part of Florence and Tuscany’s heritage and identity. A summary of Florence’s project with Expo 2015 will inaugurate the Tuscan area outside Expo on the premises of the Humane Society in the heart of Milan on via Daverio (2-10 May) with wine bars, entertainment, tastings, cooking shows, performances and training courses in an evocative area covering 300 square metres. We want to give our best for Expo 2015 and we have to do it all together.
