Tra questi possiamo citare in primis quelli di natura “socio economica”: oggi il 55% della popolazione di questi paesi vive in grandi agglomerati urbani, la crescente urbanizzazione rende quindi il trasporto su rotaia in grado di offrire un’alternativa al mezzo privato in termini di capacità, rapidità, comfort e quindi di contrastare il degrado causato dal traffico.
Anche il fenomeno dell’invecchiamento attivo della popolazione vede fasce di persone sempre più interessate a viaggiare con un mezzo che non sia l’auto, così come la maggiore propensione delle nuove generazioni al distacco dalla proprietà del mezzo. In quest’ottica, è fondamentale anche la maggiore attenzione dei paesi alla sostenibilità dei propri sistemi legati all’imponente processo di finanziamento di grandi opere infrastrutturali, dovuto anche a nuovi strumenti del credito a disposizione dei governi e al costo del denaro ai minimi storici, questo ha permesso un’ulteriore espansione del mercato potenziale consentendo ad Italferr di partecipare ad importanti gare e progetti per il trasporto urbano e ferroviario convenzionale e ad Alta Velocità in vaste aree nel modo. This has allowed for a further expansion of the potential market, thus allowing Italferr to participate in major tenders and projects dedicated to urban transport and conventional and high-speed railway systems in vast areas throughout the world. Within the scope of these markets, the benefits of engineering processes that prioritize environmental sustainability during the projects’ design, implementation, and operational phases are seen as particularly important; in fact, Italferr has established an environmental policy based on specific responsibility criteria, which are aimed at preserving and enhancing the environmental and social aspects of the territory, by adopting advanced quality and environmental management systems.
