Dopo la Festa del Latte e della Pizza, arriva a Expo Milano 2015 la Festa del Pane, una giornata dedicata all’alimento forse più condiviso da tutte le culture del mondo, sinonimo di vita e simbolo in tutte le religioni.
Da Est e da Ovest, dallo spazio Slow Food e dall’Expo Centre, due marching band vestite di color oro hanno guidato il “Corteo del Pane” fino a Piazza Italia dove ogni partecipante ha portato con sé il pane tipico del proprio paese e lo ha poggiato sulla Pangea, il grande tavolo al centro della Piazza, la grande massa continentale da cui hanno avuto origine tutti i continenti.
Il pane è stato raccolto dal Banco Alimentare e donato ai “Fratelli di San Francesco” di Milano, un’associazione impegnata nella gestione di numerosi servizi sociali per garantire sostegno alle persone in difficoltà.
The ‘Day of Bread’ at the Italian Pavilion
After the Milk and Pizza Festival, the Bread Festival will arrive at the Milan Expo 2015; a day dedicated to the food which is perhaps shared by all cultures around the world and which is synonymous with life and a symbol in all religions.
From the East and the West, from the Slow Food space and the Expo Centre, two marching bands dressed in gold led the “Procession of Bread” to the Piazza Italia where each participant brought bread typical of their country and placed it on the Pangea, the large table at the centre of the Piazza, representing the large landmass from which all continents originated.
The bread was collected by the Food Bank and donated to the “Brothers of St. Francis” in Milan, an association engaged in the management of numerous social services to provide support to people in need.
