Un momento di riflessione che guarda all’esperienza di Expo Milano 2015 per farla diventare il punto di partenza del futuro dell’Italia. Nella suggestiva cornice del Piccolo Teatro Grassi di Milano si è tenuto l’incontro dal titolo: “Expo Milano 2015 – L’impegno continua”, a cui sono intervenuti il Presidente del Consiglio Matteo Renzi e il Ministro delle Politiche Agricole, Ambientali e Forestali Maurizio Martina.“
Il Presidente del Consiglio Matteo Renzi, dopo avere ringraziato tutti coloro che hanno collaborato all’Esposizione Universale di Milano, dalle Autorità fino alle lavoratrici e ai lavoratori. “Questa città sa regalare sempre una chance e un’opportunità – ha detto Renzi -. Non abbiamo ancora scritto la pagina più interessante del nostro Paese. Abbiamo portato i grandi leader europei a Expo Milano 2015 per creare l’occasione per riflettere insieme sulle sfide del nostro tempo. L’Italia non è un concentrato di problemi e criticità, ma è un Paese con una grande cultura e ricca di intelligenze vivissime. Dobbiamo valorizzare le intelligenze che abbiamo, smettendo di compiangerci e di piangerci addosso. Siamo il Paese con l’aspettativa di vita tra le più alte, siamo fortissimi nell’associazionismo e nella manifattura, con il maggior numero di beni Unesco al mondo. Expo Milano 2015 è stato un grande successo perché ci ha restituito l’orgoglio di lavorare insieme, riscoprendoci parte di un’impresa: è diventata il simbolo di chi non si rassegna”. L’Expo “può diventare per il governo un centro a livello mondiale che affronti insieme il tema della genomica e dei big data”. ‘è un disegno organico delle riforme, Un disegno sull’Italia, che può piacere o meno. Steve Jobs ha vinto la sua battaglia perchè ha fatto una cosa facile e bella”, ha proseguito il premier. “Prima dell’i-Phone” tutti dovevano leggere le istruzioni per usare un telefonino. Ecco, “l’Italia è un po’ così: deve diventare facile e bella”.
Un polo tecnologico dedicato alla nutrizione sul sito che ha ospitato Expo Milano 2015
Non è mancata una riflessione sulla destinazione dell’area che ha ospitato l’Esposizione Universale di Milano, dove nascerà un polo tecnologico che sarà guidato dall’Istituto italiano di tecnologia diretto da Roberto Cingolani, in collaborazione con altre due importanti realtà: l’Institute for international interchange di Torino, presieduto da Mario Rasetti e la Edmund Mach Foundation di Trento, diretta da Andrea Segré.
“Pensiamo che quell’area debba essere caratterizzata da un forte valore scientifico e culturale, vogliamo creare una realtà che metta l’uomo al centro delle intelligenze, dell’innovazione e delle tecnologie più avanzate del nostro Paese – ha concluso Renzi -. Con Italy 2040 vogliamo creare un polo di innovazione e un grande centro di ricerca mondiale sulla nutrizione, la genomica, il big data, il cibo, l’eco-sostenibilità. Lo Stato è pronto a investire 150 milioni l’anno per i prossimi 10 anni su questo progetto, che può garantire fin da subito 1600 posti di lavoro. L’area di Expo Milano 2015 non deve diventare il nostro rimpianto: Expo Milano 2015 deve essere il punto di partenza per l’Italia che verrà”.

We are the country with the highest life expectancy, we are extremely strong in organization and associations and in manufacturing, with the largest number of UNESCO heritage sites in the world. Expo Milano 2015 was a great success because it gave us back our pride in working together and rediscovering ourselves as part of an enterprise: it has become the symbol of those who do not give up.” Expo “can become a global centre, for the government, that tackles the topic of genomics and of big data together”. It is a comprehensive reform plan, a plan for Italy, that may or may not be liked. Steve Jobs won his battle because of the ease and beauty of what he did”, the Premier continued. “Before the iPhone” everyone had to read the instructions to be able to use a mobile phone. You see, “Italy is a little bit like that: it needs to become easy and beautiful”.
A technological hub dedicated to nutrition on the site that hosted Expo Milano 2015
He did not fail to talk about the future disposition of the area that hosted the Universal Exhibition in Milan, where a technological hub will emerge and will be led by the Italian Institute of Technology, directed by Roberto Cingolani, in collaboration with two other important entities: the Institute for International Interchange in Turin, presided by Mario Rasetti and the Edmund Mach Foundation in Trento, directed by Andrea Segré.
“We think that this area should be characterized by strong scientific and cultural values. We want to create a situation that places people at the centre of intellect, innovation and the most advanced technologies in our country”, Renzi concluded. “With Italy 2040 we want to create a hub of innovation and a great global centre of research on nutrition, genomics, big data, food and ecological sustainability. The State is ready to invest 150 million euro per year for the next 10 years on this project, which will be able to guarantee 1600 jobs right away. The area of Expo Milano 2015 must not become something we regret: Expo Milano 2015 must be the starting point for the new Italy that is on its way.”
