70 anni Onu: Torre Pisa e altri monumenti si illuminano blu

La Torre di Pisa si è illuminata di blu il 24 ottobre in una campagna globale per i 70 anni dell’Onu. L’iniziativa presentata al Palazzo di Vetro include altri monumenti iconici in tutti i continenti, dall’Opera House di Sidney alle Piramidi di Giza, dalla statua del Cristo Redentore a Rio de Janeiro all’Empire State Building a New York e la SkyTree Tower in Giappone. Altri partecipanti alla campagna di sensibilizzazione ai valori dell’Onu “Turn the World #UNBlue” sono l’Hermitage di San Pietroburgo, l’antica città di Petra in Giordania, il Castello di Edimburgo e il Palazzo del Parlamento a Londra, Baalbeck in Libano e l’Alhambra in Spagna. “L’idea – ha detto il portavoce dell’Onu Stephane Dujarric – è di unire i cittadini di tutto il mondo e promuovere il messaggio di pace, sviluppo e diritti umani che parte dal Palazzo di Vetro”.

 
70 years of the UN: The Tower of Pisa and other monuments lit up in blue
The Tower of Pisa was illuminated in blue on the 24th October in a global campaign for 70 years of the UN. The initiative that was presented at the UN Headquarters in New York includes iconic monuments in every continent, from the Sydney Opera House to the Pyramids of Giza, from Christ the Redeemer in Rio de Janeiro to the Empire State Building in New York, to the Tokyo SkyTree. Other participants in the awareness campaign for UN values “Turn the World #UNBlue” are the Hermitage Museum in St. Petersburg, the ancient city of Petra in Jordan, Edinburgh Castle in Scotland, the Houses of Parliament in London, Baalbek in Lebanon and the Alhambra Palace in Spain. “The idea, according to UN spokesperson Stephane Dujarric, is to unite the citizens of the whole world and promote the message of peace, development and human rights that originated in the UN Headquarters.”
