Canada pazzo per Roberto Benigni. Migliaia di persone per una settimana hanno preso d’assalto le sale del Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF), che quest’anno, insieme al Festival del Cinema Italiano Contemporaneo (ICFF), ha consegnato all’attore il Premio alla Carriera e ha voluto celebrare la coppia Benigni-Braschi con una speciale retrospettiva, “A beautiful life”, che ha registrato il tutto esaurito. Nicoletta Braschi e Roberto Benigni hanno ringraziato così per il Lifetime Achievement Award: “Non ce lo aspettavamo, è stata una bellissima sorpresa che ci fa onore”.
A riconoscere l’eccezionale lavoro ed impegno artistico della coppia anche l’Università di Toronto, gremita di studenti e docenti, che ha conferito ai due artisti la Laurea Honoris Causa.

Canada goes crazy for Roberto Benigni. Thousands of people for a week stormed the halls of the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF), which this year, along with the Festival of Contemporary Italian Cinema (ICFF), presented the actor with the Lifetime Achievement Award and wanted to celebrate the Benigni-Braschi pairing with a special retrospective, ‘A Beautiful Life,’ which completely sold out. Nicoletta Braschi and Roberto Benigni expressed their thanks for the Lifetime Achievement Award: “We did not expect it; it was a great surprise that has been a great honour.” The exceptional work and artistic commitment of the couple was also recognised by the University of Toronto, which gave the two artists honorary degree at a ceremony packed with students and teachers.
