Nel 2015 nella piccola grande isola, si è segnato il record assoluto di flussi turistici in entrata con circa 3,5 milioni di presenze, mentre appare superfluo guardando alla storia, ribadire come il turismo rappresenti una delle risorse economiche più importanti per il sostentamento e la sopravvivenza stessa di Cuba. Oggi Cuba rappresenta un nuovo potenziale Eldorado ed è di fatto già iniziata la corsa, essendo vista l’economia cubana come sul punto di esplodere ma quello che è chiaro è che a Cuba non hanno alcuna intenzione di snaturare il proprio sistema faticosamente difeso in questi decenni. Le opportunità offerte da Cuba sono tutt’altro che trascurabili: l’economia del Paese sta vivendo un ciclo di espansione culminato in una crescita pari al 4% registrata nel 2015 e la previsione per il 2016 è intorno al 2%. Cuba è una realtà che con tutte le sue contraddizioni, vanta grandi potenzialità specialmente dal punto di vista del capitale umano, del sistema educativo ed in specifici settori di eccellenza come quello biomedico e medico, mentre un settore con grande margine di sviluppo è rappresentato dalle energie rinnovabili (oggi al 5% ma che il governo vorrebbe portare al 24% entro il 2020).
Cuba, many opportunities overlooking the Caribbean Islands
In 2015, the small, still large island has marked the absolute record of tourist inflows with approximately 3.5 million visitors, while it seems superfluous looking at history and confirming that tourism is one of the most important economic resources for the sustenance of the island and that is a very survival sector for Cuba. Today Cuba is a potential new Eldorado and in fact a race has already begun, with the Cuban economy as about to explode, but what is also clear is that Cuba has no intention of deviating from its system laboriously defended in recent decades. The opportunities offered by Cuba are far from negligible: the country’s economy is experiencing a cycle of expansion culminated in an increase of 4% recorded in 2015 and the forecast for 2016 is around 2%. Cuba is a reality with all its contradictions, has great potential, especially in terms of human capital and in the education system in specific areas of excellence such as the biomedical and medical, and a sector with great room for development is represented by the energies renewables (now 5%, but that the government would like to raise it at 24% by 2020).
