“Expo è stato un successo, ha migliorato la reputazione del Paese e valorizzato i marchi Made in Italy. Consapevoli di questo, l’Italia avrà molto da fare per la preparazione di Expo Dubai. Siamo in contatto con l’amministrazione di Expo 2020, le nostre aziende sono state attive ed hanno imparato molto da questa esperienza e saranno attive e proattive in questa futura opportunità, in un quadro di complementarità dei due Paesi. Tale intento collaborativo è confermato dai numerosi incontri istituzionali che si susseguono, tra cui quello recente tra il Presidente del Consiglio Renzi e il Ministro degli Esteri emiratino. Quella degli Emirati è oggi una delle economie più dinamiche, con una delle migliori performance al mondo rispetto ad ogni indicatore di crescita, dalla popolazione, al PIL pro capite, alle infrastrutture. La nostra presenza a Dubai ed Abu Dhabi cresce e si qualifica di giorno in giorno, come numero di aziende, investimenti, professionisti che vivono lì: in generale abbiamo una classe di imprenditori molto competenti negli Emirati e anche per questo si riscontra un grande amore verso il nostro Paese, tanto che in molti emiratini guardano con favore allo sviluppo dei loro investimenti in Italia. Ci risulta inoltre che gli emiratini siano in testa alla classifica dei turisti che spendono di più in Italia. Va dunque favorita questa propensione positiva: a tal fine abbiamo messo a punto due nuovi strumenti: un Comitato di supporto all’investitore che afferisce al Vice Ministro del MISE Carlo Calenda, composto da varie rappresentanze istituzionali, dal Ministero delle Finanze per le questioni fiscali, al Ministero dell’Ambiente per i permessi, ai Governi regionali, al Dipartimento di Giustizia, etc… In questo modo l’investitore troverà ad un unico tavolo le risposte alle sue esigenze. Il secondo strumento è quello di creare, localmente, dei gruppi di esperti che si occupano di individuare investitori potenziali, supportare gli investitori gia’ attivi sul territorio nazionale e costruire l’interesse verso specifiche opportunità di investimento. Dubai to Host Expo 2020
“Milan Expo 2015 was a roaring success. It improved Italy’s reputation and endorsed Italian brands, and now Italy will have a lot to do with the preparations for Dubai Expo 2020, the organisers of which we are already in contact with. Italian businesses learnt a lot from the experience and will be very active in a mutually beneficial relationship with Dubai. This collaborative effort is demonstrated in a series of meetings that have taken place between various institutions, including the recent meeting of the Italian Prime Minister, Renzi, and the foreign minister of the United Arab Emirates. Today, the UAE’s economy is one of the most dynamic in the world, performing extremely well according to all indicators of growth, population, GDP per capita and infrastructure. Italy’s presence in Dubai and Abu Dhabi is growing by the day in the form of businesses, investments and professionals living there. There is a class of very competent Italian business people in the UAE and, as a result of this, you can see a burgeoning love for Italy, and most Emiratis look very favourably upon the development of their investments in Italy. Furthermore, tourists from the Emirates are among those who spend the most money when visiting Italy. This propensity to spend is very positive, and so Italy has developed two new tools for development: a committee for investor support led by Carlo Calenda, Deputy Minister of MISE (Italian Ministry for Economic Development). This committee comprises of various institutional representatives, from the Minster of Finance for fiscal matters to the Environment Minister for permits and authorisation, to the Department of Justice, and more. This way the investors can get the answers to all of their questions in one place. The second tool is the creation of groups of experts that work to identify potential investors, support already active investors in the country and drum up interest in specific investment opportunities.
