“I nuovi mostri a tavola”: in mostra a Firenze il Made in Italy taroccato

Il falso Made in Tuscany in gabbia.

“New monsters at the table”: Counterfeit Italian Produce on Show in Florence
‘Made in Tuscany’ exhibition of fakes. At the Casa delle Eccellenze, the Florence Chamber of Commerce Anti-Counterfeit Observatory, in collaboration with Coldiretti, you can see the horrors that have been found and seized all over the world. Until October you can visit the biggest exhibition of fakes ever shown in Tuscany, entitled “New Monsters at the Table”. These are goods that are often harmful to health, that damage Italy’s agri-food sector and the international image of ‘Made in Italy’, and are contributing to the closure of companies and the loss of many jobs. Among the 32 examples of products passed off as Italian or Tuscan were “Chianti” produced in California, the infamous DIY kit to make your own DOC wine, the American “Columbus” finocchiona (fennel sausage), German salami with misleading labels such as “Firenza Salami”, and even “Tuscan” milk from America.
