PREMIO LEONARDO 2016
Il Premio Leonardo 2016, riservato ad un personaggio che si sia particolarmente distinto nel promuovere l’immagine dell’Italia nel mondo, è stato conferito quest’anno a Alberto Bombassei, Presidente di Brembo, Fondatore e Presidente del parco scientifico e tecnologico Kilometro Rosso.
PREMIO LEONARDO START UP
Anche quest’anno il Comitato Leonardo, in collaborazione con il MISE e l’Agenzia ICE, ha assegnato il Premio Leonardo Start up ad una realtà ad alto tasso di innovazione: ValueBioTech, società milanese che ha ideato il Robot M.I.L.A.N.O – Minimal Invasive Light Automatic Natural Orifice – una tecnologia avanzata e brevettata, nata dall’intuizione di un chirurgo italiano, che consente di operare senza lasciare cicatrici, con un sistema avanzatissimo di visione ad alta definizione in 3D.

Premiano qualità e vocazione all’export, sono stati assegnati a 4 eccellenze made in Italy di diversi settori industriali: Elica Spa (Presidente: Francesco Casoli), leader mondiale nel mercato delle cappe da cucina; Gruppo Maccaferri (Presidente: Gaetano Maccaferri), holding con oltre 50 stabilimenti nel mondo, attiva nell’ingegneria ambientale, meccanica, energia,real estate,agroindustria e tabacco; Gruppo Veronesi (Presidente: Bruno Veronesi), leader nel settore agroalimentare, mangimi e industria salumiera; Masi Agricola Spa (Presidente: Sandro Boscaini), azienda vitivinicola della Valpolicella Classica, produttore leader di Amarone.
PREMIO LEONARDO INTERNATIONAL
Il Premio Leonardo International è stato conferito a Jeffrey S. Loberbaum, Presidente e Amministratore Delegato di Mohawk Industries Inc, gruppo multinazionale americano leader mondiale nel flooring quotato alla Borsa di New York (NYSE), che nel 2013 ha acquisito l’azienda italiana Marazzi Group. “Un esempio di come gli investimenti stranieri possano rafforzare la competitività internazionale e le capacità innovative delle aziende italiane”, ha sottolineato Luisa Todini. Ha ritirato il Premio Christopher Wellborn, Presidente e Direttore Operativo di Mohawk Industries, accompagnato dall’Amministratore Delegato di Marazzi Mauro Vandini.
PREMI DI LAUREA
Come ogni anno, la Cerimonia è stata anche l’occasione per consegnare i 9 Premi di Laurea, finanziati da imprenditori soci del Comitato Leonardo. “Dal 1997 abbiamo premiato e sostenuto, attraverso le borse di studio messe a disposizione dai nostri soci in diversi settori strategici del Made in Italy, oltre 150 brillanti neolaureati di tutta Italia, perché crediamo che investire sul talento dei nostri giovani significhi investire sul futuro del nostro Paese” ha dichiarato la Presidente Todini.
DUE ECCELLENZE ITALIANE NEL COMITATO LEONARDO
Italferr e Gruppo Pelliconi entrano a far parte del Comitato Leonardo. Due grandi realtà sono state cooptate nell’Assemblea del Comitato Leonardo dello scorso 2 marzo. La prima è Italferr, società del Gruppo Ferrovie dello Stato che vanta oltre 30 anni di esperienza nei grandi progetti infrastrutturali per il settore ferroviario, metropolitano, stradale oltre che nella progettazione di porti e stazioni in Italia e all’estero. Italferr è presente in 22 Paesi, ha oltre 1100 dipendenti e un valore del turnover registrato nel 2015 pari a 166 mln di euro. La seconda realtà cooptata è il Gruppo Pelliconi, uno dei più grandi esportatori di tappi a corona a livello mondiale. L’azienda, con 5 impianti di produzione divisi tra Italia e estero, ha un fatturato del 90% rivolto all’export: per questo vanta una presenza in 115 Paesi.

The Leonardo Prize 2016, reserved for a person who is particularly distinguished in promoting the image of Italy in the world, was awarded this year to Alberto Bombassei, Chairman of Brembo, Founder and Chairman of the scientific and technological park the Kilometro Rosso.

This year the Leonardo Committee, in collaboration with the MISE and the ICE Agency, has assigned the Leonardo Start up Prize to a company with a high rate of innovation: ValueBioTech, a Milan-based company that has developed the M.I.L.A.N.O. Robot – Minimal Invasive Light Automatic Natural Orifice – an advanced, patented technology, begun as the vision of an Italian surgeon, which allows for the performance of operations without scarring, with a highly advanced high definition 3D vision system.

The Italian Quality Leonardo Prizes 2016, which reward quality and export orientation, have been assigned to 4 made in Italy leaders from various industrial sectors: Elica Spa (President: Francesco Casoli), a world leader in the cooker hood market; Maccaferri Group (President: Gaetano Maccaferri), a holding company with more than 50 establishments worldwide, active in environmental engineering, mechanical engineering, energy, real estate, agro-industry and tabacco; Veronesi Group (President: Bruno Veronesi), a leader in the food industry, feed industry, and charcuterie; Masi Agricola Spa (President: Sandro Boscaini), a Valpolicella Classica winery, a leading producer of Amarone.

The Leonardo International Prize was awarded to Jeffrey S. Loberbaum, President and CEO of Mohawk Industries Inc., an American multinational group and world leader in flooring, listed on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE), which in 2013 acquired the Italian company Marazzi Group. “An example of how foreign investment can strengthen international competitiveness and the innovative capacity of Italian companies”, said Luisa Todini. Christopher Wellborn accepted the Prize, President and COO of Mohawk Industries, accompanied by the Managing Director of Marazzi, Mauro Vandini.

Like every year, the ceremony was also the occasion to deliver 9 Degree Prizes, Funded by the entrepreneur members of the Leonardo Committee. “Since 1997 we have rewarded and supported, through scholarships made available by our members in different strategic sectors of Made in Italy, more than 150 brilliant graduates from all over Italy, because we believe that investing in the talent of our young people means investing in the future of our Country”, declared President Todini.
TWO ITALIAN EXCELLENCES AT THE COMITATO LEONARDO
Italferr and Gruppo Pelliconi are becoming part of the Comitato Leonardo. Two important realities have been elected into the Comitato Leonardo Assembly. The first is Italferr, a society of the Gruppo Ferrovie dello Stato, which features over 30 years of experience in great infrastructural projects for the rail, metropolitan, and road sector in addition to the planning of ports and stations in Italy and abroad. Italferr is in 22 countries, has more than 1100 employs, and a turnover value registered in 2015 at 166 million euro. The second group is Gruppo Pelliconi, one of the greaters exporters of crown corks on a global scale. The company, with 5 factories between Italy and abroad, has a turnover of 90% towards export, and because of this they feature their presence in 115 countries.
