We the Italians. Two flags. One heart

Cento interviste
Tra febbraio e marzo, Umberto Mucci, il fondatore del network We the Italians, dedicato agli Italiani negli USA, ha svolto un primo giro di presentazioni del suo libro “We the Italians. Two flags. One heart.
Emanuela D’Alessandro.

One hundred interviews
Between February and March, Umberto Mucci, the founder of the network We the Italians, dedicated to the Italian in the USA, held an initial round of presentations of his book “We the Italians. Two flags. One heart. One hundred interviews”: a selection of the best 100 interviews conducted by the author. Each interviewee has an interesting and original point of view given his/her history, activities and role, to analyze the relationship between Italy and the US.
The Italian community in the US, made by Italian Americans and by the Italians born in Italy and then moved to America, is a prestigious and successful group of several million of positive and motivated people, with a typically Italian talent and the desire to realize their American dream.
The presentations tour saw hundreds of people involved in 10 stages, each organized by the group that, in that place, is more committed to represent and celebrate Italy; and in each stage the author had with him one or more of the interviewees, the real protagonists of the book. The tour started from Staten Island, the New York district with the highest percentage of Italian Americans, where together with the author participated Rossella Rago and Aldo Mancusi. The other cities involved were Houston, Texas with Brando Ballerini; Albuquerque in New Mexico with Rosalba Maniaci; Las Vegas in Nevada with Ed Bevilacqua; Kansas City, Missouri with Gino Serra and Stefano Radio; Detroit, Michigan with Maria Luisa Lapresa, Jennifer Baross and Jack Johnson; Boca Raton with Sally Valenti and Miami with Gianluca Fountains in Florida; New Orleans, Louisiana with Frank Maselli; and in the end at the prestigious Italian American Museum in Little Italy in Manhattan in New York with Stephen Briganti, Maria Teresa Cometto, Annalisa Liuzzo, Berardo Paradiso and Joseph Scelsa.
New presentations will take place on the east coast between April and May, and then in other parts of the US in October. In addition, the book will be released in Italy in June, and will be presented in about ten major Italian cities.
The author also had the privilege to present the book to the new Italian Ambassador in Washington, HE Armando Varricchio, and the Diplomatic Advisor to the President of the Republic, HE Emanuela D’Alessandro.
