In occasione delle prossime Olimpiadi brasiliane, il Coni scende in campo al fianco di Action Aid per aiutare le favelas di Rio de Janeiro. Il Comitato olimpico italiano, assieme agli sponsor contribuirà alla realizzazione di un campo da calcio nella favela di City of God, oltre ad un corso di formazione su alimentazione e sport alla favela di Rocinha. “Abbiamo creato un filo conduttore fra noi e il Brasile per aiutare le favelas di Rio de Janeiro. Da Casa Italia, da una parte si vede il mare e dall’altra si vede la favela più grande del mondo.
È come andare in barca a Lampedusa e Lesbo, non si può far finta di niente”, ha dichiarato il presidente Giovanni Malagò.
Rio 2016, CONI and Action Aid: together for charity
For the upcoming Olympics in Brazil, the Italian Olympic Committee (CONI) is joining forces with Action Aid to help the favelas in Rio de Janeiro. CONI and sponsors will be helping to build a football field in the City of God favela, as well as holding a training course on nutrition and sport in the Rocinha favela. “We have set up a link between us and Brazil in order to help the favelas in Rio de Janeiro. From Casa Italia, we can see the sea on one side and the biggest favela in the world on the other. It’s like going from Lampedusa to Lesbos by boat, you can’t ignore it”, commented President Giovanni Malagò.
